The Power of Self-Control to Heal Your Hidden Self
Healing the inner you, or your hidden self, will improve your life in many ways. This includes the personal and professional aspects of your persona. Self-control is very important to learn and is a vital lesson of self-development and self-healing, because it makes us better as people. If we can show self-control, we can overcome difficult situations and avoid the stress such situations bring. We need to adapt and grow to become more self-controlled individuals.
You need to heal your hidden self to develop self-control. Developing the art of self-control requires you to be receptive and understand why it is so important. We have to be able to control ourselves when confronted with upsetting or difficult situations. Being receptive prepares us and gets us into the right frame of mind for controlling our will and our concentration. Letting ourselves become overwhelmed just makes things worse because the negative situations still exist but you don't want to deal with them, or feel that you can't.
We need to show self-control at various times throughout our lives. It helps us by withholding judgment and directing our attentions in the right way. We need to accept what we cannot change and change the things we are able to. We need to act in a controlled way and alter our behavior to suit the situations we face in day to day life. Every single person needs to use self-control, no matter what their circumstances are.
We all need to be open to change. Life doesn't remain the same for long and changes are happening all the time. If we feel unable to accept change, we are going to lose self-control and feel overwhelmed. When we use self-control, we can easily get through tricky situations and face life in a more positive, stress-free manner. We can face issues head on and make decisions.
Everybody had their own way of handling situations and we can't be grounded all the time, not with outside factors affecting us. This is why we need to use self-control. Sometimes our emotions will come to the forefront and get the better of us. When this happens, the end result can be worse than the situation that caused it all. We need to face problems logically rather than emotionally, in order to work through them. Logic is helpful when we are reacting to a situation but you have to analyze and keep healing the hidden self.
If we feel stressed and a problem is overwhelming us, it is usually because the subliminal mind stops us from seeing the clear picture of what is going on. When you begin to explore this mind, you will find that you can work more easily through the process of healing the hidden self, which means you will have more self-control. We are able to redirect our thoughts in a positive way and use these thoughts to attain a balanced, happy and stress-free life.
If we always focus on the stresses instead, we will soon become overwhelmed, which leads to loss of control. We must open our hearts and minds and control our physical reactions and emotional feelings. Sometimes it is easy to forget about the important things in life and focus on the bad things only. This is a bad attitude to have because, if we cannot control our thoughts, we will not be able to redirect the way we think and feel to reach a more positive conclusion.Mike Hepburn
Dealing With Chronic Stress and It's Killer Effects
There are many ways of dealing chronic stress and improving health, and it is thought that stress weakens the immune system, creating a good many of the physical health ailments we see our doctors about. Making the body less resistant to disease. There have been many studies done on health, stress and longevity. For instance, in one such study, twenty seven people living Thailand's mountainous areas were examined. They shared several characteristics, such as that they were all over 100 years old (one was 124!) and they ate plenty of fish, walked a lot and lived near mountains. They drank, smoked and were poor, but such things did not seem to affect their longevity.
Despite these studies and reports, there is no guaranteed way to beating stress and improving our lifestyle to encourage health and longevity. Meditation, exercise, self-hypnosis, yoga, learning to breath again and diet can certainly help. Companies might offer "cure-alls" but these don't work either. True stress management is probably a combination of strategies. Such strategies include rest, exercise, meditation, positive thinking a nutritionally balanced diet and positive health practices, reducing stress where possible and changing some perceptions about life and work.
Your own lifestyle for dealing with stress is very important for preventing stressful times and benefiting your overall health. Your style and personality are reflected through your own valued principles, which are like your natural laws. If you want to change your own stress levels, you need to work within your own unique style to do so.
Stress isn't always a bad thing. A stress-free world wouldn't be very interesting! (we might die of boredom without some stress) Imagine waking up in the morning, not being bothered about anything. Without stress there is no motivation or will to do anything. You would just feel lazy and apathetic and not concerned about what happens or what is going to happen. But there is a lot of difference between day to day stresses and chronic stress.
We all have some degree of stress as we perform tasks throughout the day. Without it, there wouldn't be any pressure to perform. We need some stress to be able to function. A fair amount of job stress leads to a better work performance or exam performance, or makes life in general better and more interesting.
Low performance can sometimes be associated with stress. There might be a level of stress which is necessary to be able to perform well and be satisfied with our lives.Mike Hepburn
How to Boost a Low Sex Drive
There are various reasons for having a low sex drive, such as nervous disorders, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, endocrine disorders, nutritional deficiencies, living in a rat race and other reasons.
A healthy sex drive is part of being human so if your sex drive is low, you will probably want to see your doctor to find out why. There are natural herbs available on the market which can improve your mood, help you feel and look better, raise your overall energy levels and boost your sex drive.
Herbal remedies are a natural way of treating many different ailments and they don't have side effects, like a lot of over the counter medicines seem to.
There are various herbal treatments for a low sexual desire. These range from herbs containing nutrients to improve your health over a period of time to aphrodisiacs. Anything which is beneficial to your health can help to raise your sex drive too over time.
So when you are trying to increase your sexual desire, you need to exercise regularly and look at your diet. Make sure you eat a well-balanced diet which is low in fat and includes plenty of vegetables. Eating too much sugar and drinking too much alcohol is bad for your sex drive (and your health in general).
As well as altering your diet if you need to, there are a range of herbs which can be useful:
• St John's Wort – This is good at treating insomnia and depression, both of which can cause a low sex drive. It improves the overall wellbeing of the body and mind.
• Sarsaparilla – This is a great blood purifier and is used in the treatment of liver disorders. Liver function is linked to sexual desire. Sarsaparilla is also good for glandular balance and contains the hormones progesterone and testosterone.
• Passion Flower – One of the biggest factors in a low sex drive, especially in women, is stress. Passion Flower helps the mind and body to relax and lowers stress levels.
• Gingko – This is said to increase the blood circulation to the genital area and increase energy in general. If you have improved blood circulation, you will have better sensations during sexual intercourse and arousal will be easier.
• Horny Goat Weed – This increases sexual desire and performance in both men and women. It is thought to affect cortisol levels, which are the main stress hormones in the body.
As well as these herbs, there are also a number of vitamins and other nutrients that can help with your sex drive. Such supplements include Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex, Zinc, fish oils and Vitamin E. Something else that can help with relaxation is the use of scents. Try sandalwood, lavender, ylang ylang and jasmine to get you in a relaxed, sensual mood.
In my opinion the most important thing you can do for your sex life - love life is taking some time for you and your lover.Mike Hepburn
The Boomers Desire To Looking and Feeling Young
Baby boomers have set a high standard for creating many different products and services to attend to their desire to stay youthful. They want to look young and this yearning has resulted in a great deal of profits in the plastic surgery and cosmetic markets. It is easy to make light of this desire and call it vanity but wanting to hang on to youth goes deeper than just vanity. It is also about a certain frame of mind.
Baby boomers grounded their identities in the youth movement, which took place for them in the 1960s and 1970s. Before the boomer generation, there weren't any youth movements. Youth culture pretty much took over American and world culture in that era and things haven't really been reversed since.
The culture of the 1960s and 1970s adored youth. The longing to put age on a pedestal and love everything about being young has permeated the culture. As the boomer generation moved into their middle age, the desire to stay youthful stayed strong and the boomers are about to create the biggest ever retirement generation.
Not all of the youth worship is just about looking hot and not wanting the physical changes that age usually brings. Some of the passion for the youth concept is about commitment to causes and idealism. Changing the world and making it a better place was largely what the 1960s youth culture was all about. These values are important and supported by many, so we can't really complain that the baby boomers want to stay youthful-looking as well.
The pursuit of youth often manifests itself in attempts to stay young, whether by cosmetic surgery or by using lotions and potions to smooth and tone the skin. The appeal is easy to understand because we all like to look our best. The real source of youth, however, is not wrinkle-free skin or tight abs. An inner youthfulness can be reflected by having a youthful outlook on life and looking after yourself with a good diet and taking enough exercise. This should keep anyone well and healthy into their senior years.
When baby boomers use cosmetic means in order to stay young and have "inner youthfulness" to boot, they do retain a lot of their youth more than you would expect from someone of that age. We have all met an elderly person who is full of life and vitality, enjoying every day, and sometimes they can make us feel old with their great zest for life! Their curiosity about the world going on around them and their idealism and optimism are things that you currently associate with much younger people. When a senior citizen is like this, it is truly inspiring. And why shouldn't they feel and act that way?
This is the what the real youth movement is all about, as pioneered by the baby boomers. You can see that it involves more than just using anti-wrinkle cream, Botox and hair dye. It is about being a strong role model to the current youth and encouraging them not to give up on their dreams. It is also about reminding younger people that age is just a number and if you are creative, curious and find excitement and joy in life, you can remain young at heart, whatever your real age. This is a great legacy for the baby boomers to leave behind and for the future youth to enjoy and appreciate.Mike Hepburn
The Importance of Self Control And How To Use It
Can you honestly say right now that you are completely happy? Do you know your true calling? Are you satisfied with everything in your life? Think about this for a few minutes and the results might surprise you. In the race to move ahead in life with material things, it is easy to forget about nurturing your inner self. You are juggling so many different things that you no longer have time to interact with yourself.
You might be a social success with plenty of friends, a good lifestyle and enough money, but is there something missing which gets in the way of your complete enjoyment? If you don't have peace of mind and serenity, you will feel a spiritual deficit. You might think that spending time and money on travel to distant places can help you to "find yourself" but the truth is that the key to the controlled, calm mind lies within yourself.
Perhaps your life seems to be all about how much you can accumulate materialistically. If you have the best designer wardrobe and the most expensive car, you are considered to be successful. If you are more worried about having the highest paid job, the fastest car and the best gadgets, you have put "living" on hold to chase all these material things. You might have the best cell phone but you will have no time to talk to your family. You might have the best car but you will have no time to enjoy it, apart from getting to your high-paid job and back home exhausted.
The good news is that even if the above sounds like you, it is not too late to make changes and adopt some techniques to help you. Begin to appreciate the beauty of nature. When is the last time you looked at and truly appreciated the sunrise or sunset, the dew on the flowers in the morning or the rain? Looking at such things will make you feel calm and happy. Stars, different phases of the moon and plants remind us that nothing lasts forever. It is good to learn lessons such as thing and then move on. You should focus on your present, keeping the future in mind. Living in the present and worrying about the past does you no favors. You cannot change the past and thinking about it detracts from the present.
Don't fear failure. Instead, experiment and be creative. If you do fail, you have learned a lesson. This leads to a better understanding of yourself and better ideas. Regular exercise is important because it keeps you healthy and helps you shake off negative energy. Try running in the park so you can be close to nature and enjoy it while you work out.
Music is a good stress-buster and healer. If you listen to music you enjoy, you can create a positive aura around yourself and energize yourself for the day ahead.
Meditation is a great way to connect with your self. You can sit cross-legged (lying down will put you to sleep!) and close your eyes. Breathe deeply and try to clear your mind. You need to practice meditation in the same place every day.
It is a good idea to plan your life on a weekly or monthly basis. This gives you direction and something to aim for. It helps you to focus on what's important and what's not, and to prioritize your schedule. You should break any long term goals down into short term ones. If you want to lose 30 lbs, break down your weight loss to how much you want to lose per week. It will make it seem more doable and realistic and you will have more chance of success.

The Importance Of Forgiving Others
Imagine this scenario. The alarm goes off in the morning and you force yourself to get out of bed. Another day has started. You feel aching and weak, yet you dress yourself, buckle up your heavy boots, strap on your bag full of resentment and anger and trudge into your day. You feel exhausted and pained before the day has properly begun.
This is how it feels to carry around emotional pain, resentment and anger every single day. You don't have the energy to seek or enjoy happiness. You might not even remember the last time you felt happy.
The only thing you can focus on or think about is the person who upset or angered you.
It might be difficult to accept but the only person being hurt by this emotional baggage is you. There was a study undertaken at the Harvard School of Public Health and the study found that angry people are three times more likely to develop heart disease than people with less emotional baggage.
Every day you spend time focusing on the person who hurt you, the more control they have over your life, draining your energy and making you feel even worse. There is only one way out of this, and that is forgiveness.
You might be reluctant to think about forgiving someone. You might be thinking about getting your own back on them or thinking of some way to get even. But forgiveness is the only way to get past the pain and move on.
What exactly is forgiveness?
Forgiveness means letting go of the negative emotions you have about the person who hurt you. Researchers on this topic believe that you are in control of your behavior and can decide whether to forgive or not.
This doesn't mean the person who hurt you is no longer accountable for what they did. Forgiveness means that you stop being a victim and move on to where you can have greater personal power and better health.
These are some things you might like to try, to help you to forgive someone and to get on with your life:
1. Before you begin forgiving, you need to acknowledge your feelings because they are justified. Such feelings might include fear, anger, grief and resentment.2. Understand that if you dwell on your negative feelings, this is bad for you emotionally and physically.3. Forgiveness doesn't mean you condone the behavior that made you upset. It doesn't allow you to be abused either.4. Realize that you are responsible for your own feelings and only you can heal your pain.5. Choose to release the sadness, anger, fear and grief by seeking professional help if you need to.6. Make the decision to forgive whoever hurt you.7. You are forgiving the other person to get rid of your own pain and suffering, not the other way around. You are doing this for your own peace of mind and wellbeing.
If you practice these steps, you can reduce hurt, anger, stress and depression and allow physical and emotional strength back into your life. Forgiveness is for yourself, not for the health and happiness of the person who hurt you. Once you feel ready to forgive, follow the above steps in the right order.
If you can do this, very soon you can un-strap those heavy boots and take off the sack filled with pain and anger. After that, you are free to move on with your life and reintroduce happiness and joy, without letting the acts of one person get in the way.

Now I forwarded this from someone else without typing it myself, and sent it to you and others all over the United States,& Canada and the world, in a matter of seconds! Try to imagine what it may be like in another 100 years.
IT STAGGERS THE MIND, EH ?
Congratulations to all Kids Born from 1930 to 1980
How true this is!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's 70's and 80’s!!
CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!
Old Age is a Gift
The other day a young person asked me how I felt about being old. I was taken aback, for I do not think of myself as old. Upon seeing my reaction, she was immediately embarrassed, but I explained that it was an interesting question, and I would ponder it, and let her know.
Old Age, I decided, is a gift.
I am now, probably for the first time in my life, the person I have always wanted to be. Oh, not my body! I sometime despair over my body, the wrinkles, the baggy eyes, and the sagging butt. And often I am taken aback by that old person that lives in my mirror (who looks like my mother!), but I don't agonize over those things for long.
I would never trade my amazing friends, my wonderful life, my loving family for less gray hair or a flatter belly. As I've aged, I've become more kind to myself, and less critical of myself. I've become my own friend. I don't chide myself for eating that extra cookie, or for not making my bed, or for buying that silly cement gecko that I didn't need, but looks so avante garde on my patio. I am entitled to a treat, to be messy, to be extravagant. I have seen too many dear friends leave this world too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.
Whose business is it if I choose to read or play on the computer until 4 AM and sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 60&70's, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love ... I will.
I will walk the beach in a swim suit that is stretched over a bulging body, and will dive into the waves with abandon if I choose to, despite the pitying glances from the jet set.
They, too, will get old.
I know I am sometimes forgetful. But there again, some of life is just as well forgotten. And I eventually remember the important things.
Sure, over the years my heart has been broken. How can your heart not break when you lose a loved one, or when a child suffers, or even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car? But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion. A heart never broken is pristine and sterile, and will never know the joy of being truly alive.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on my face. So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.
As you get older, it is easier to be positive. You care less about what other people think. I don't question myself anymore. I've even earned the right to be wrong.
So, to answer your question, I like being old. It has set me free. I like the person I have become. I am not going to live forever, but while I am still here, I will not waste time lamenting what could have been, or worrying about what will be. And I shall eat dessert every single day. (If I feel like it)
MAY OUR FRIENDSHIP NEVER COME APART, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART! MAY YOU ALWAYS HAVE A RAINBOW OF SMILES ON YOUR FACE AND IN YOUR HEART FOREVER AND EVER!

Benefits of Gardening for Kids
Apparently, we can see how nature is treated these days. It is a sad thing to know that people do not pay attention so much anymore to the environmental problems. What can we do about this? It's as simple as starting with the children. It is good to see the children's involvement with environment-friendly activities. One such nature-loving activity that children could easily get their hands on is gardening. Why should you consider gardening for your children?
Here are the benefits that gardening could easily provide the children with:
1. Science
In planting, children are indirectly taught the wonders of science like the plant's life cycle and how human's intervention can break or make the environment. They can have a first hand experience on the miracle of life through a seed. This would definitely be a new and enjoyable experience for the kids.
2. Life
Watching a seed grow into a tree is just as wondrous as the conception to birth and growth of a child. In time, kids will learn to love their plants and appreciate the life in them. Gardening could actually help simulate how life should be treated -- it should be with care. The necessities to live will be emphasized to kids with the help of gardening - water, sunlight, air, soil. Those necessities could easily be corresponded to human necessities, i.e., water, shelter, air, food. By simply weeding out, one could educate how bad influences should be avoided to be able to live life smoothly.
3. Relaxation
Studies show that gardening can reduce stress because of its calming effect. This is applicable to any age group. More so, it stimulates all the five senses. Believe it or not, gardening may be used as therapy to children who have been abused or those who are members of broken homes. It helps build one's self-esteem.
4. Quality Time with the Family
You can forget about your stressful work life for a while be soothed by the lovely ambience in the garden. You can play and spend quality time with your children. You can talk while watering the plants or you can work quietly beside each other. The bottom line is, always do what you have to do, together with your kids. You might discover a lot of new things about your child while mingling with them in your garden.
Let kids become aware of their environment's needs. And one way to jumpstart that environmental education may be through gardening. It's hitting two birds with one stone -- teach them to respect life while you bond with them.

The Art of Yoga
Yoga
Yoga has been in use for 5000 years. In my research, it is difficult to find anyone saying negative things about it.So there must be something to it!I have stared by just just purchasing a couple of DVD's., due to time constraints I can't get out for classes. It takes several weeks to feel the benefits so be patient.
The form of Yoga most people are familiar with is Hatha Yoga or Hatha Vidya. Many people ask how to start a home yoga practice so here is some information to get you going. Yoga practice has in fact helped thousands of people in improving their physical and mental fitness.
Although most people in Europe or the US use Yoga as a physical exercise primarily, the intent of Yoga is to combine all of your life forces to achieve spirituality and happiness. Kundalini yoga isn’t just a way to revitalize yourself during the winter; it is form of yoga that can help you in all areas of your life any time of year. One of the major benefits that yoga can help in relation to IBS, is helping to stabilize the digestive system.
As you continue to practice yoga, you’ll slowly become aware of the oneness of yourself, experience less hostility towards the world, a fading fear of life and people. Ancient, and modern day yogis, taught yoga as a way to gain focus and become one with yourself and the universe. Concentration and focus are just two of the benefits of yoga which will come quickly to the dedicated novice, and they will become even more enhanced for the seasoned veteran.
Whatever we have come to know about Yoga and whatever we are able to demonstrate, let it be that in our hearts and minds we hold some precious understanding so that the yoga way of life will become known to others by our example in a simple but powerful life of goodness and purpose. Unless we are ready to cross the boundaries and compulsions provided by the human body we will not be able to cross the known frontiers, that is to increase our perception and build character, yoga is ideal for this. 6) Dharana (Concentration): When the human body has been toned by yoga postures, Mind and senses have been controlled by pranayama and pratyahara techniques.
Kundalini yoga is practiced with sets of postures and exercises that work on a specific area of the body, mind and spirit. Today yoga is accepted as a comprehensive exercise to promote control of the body and mind. One of the more important aspects to remember when you are practicing Yoga during pregnancy is to control your breathing and listen to your body.
Relaxation using focus Once your body is relaxed, focus your mind on every body part starting with the feet and train your eyes to follow upwards towards your head. But in order for you to get your body and mind to eliminate or deal with stress better, you have to learn how to focus.

The Power of Positive & Negative Thinking
Learn the Causes of Negative Thinking
Negative thinking can be a destructive force. It can cause you to pass up on the best opportunities in life simply because you don’t believe it will succeed or that you don’t think you're good enough. It can cloud your perspective on things and fail to see their potential. Some of the best inventions and discoveries were met with negative thinking. From the steamboat to the telephone to the computers we use today, all the inventors and discoverers of these great technologies once had to struggle against people who opposed their novelty and unfamiliarity. So now the question: what causes negative thinking and why is it so difficult to correct?
So what causes negative thinking? Acquired thought patterns are to blame for making people hesitant and negative. The good news is, these thought patterns can be changed in order to develop a different behavior that people can use to improve their life. Learn to know these causes and how they affect your life in a negative way:
One of the most common causes of negative thinking in people is bad experience. If you've been rejected before, or have experienced pain and ridicule in the past, it's often difficult to overcome the feeling that it could happen again. So maybe you failed miserably in your Science class and became the laughingstock of your high school for a whole year. Does that stop you from going to the prom?
Apparently, for many people, it does. Worse, it hounds them into adulthood, making them think of things and events in a negative way. Painful past experiences pave the way toward negative thinking and make the mind ripe for unconstructive thoughts. When they are established within a person, they are often difficult to get rid of.People who have no self-esteem tend to blame themselves for everything, whether or not they directly contributed to it or not. When faced with an opportunity that could lead to a promotion or recognition, people who lack self-esteem often back off, thinking, 'I can't do that. I'm not good enough. I failed before, I'll fail again.'
Fighting Fear
1. Identify your fearExperts say that there are many kinds of fear. However, most of the fears that people have are concrete examples of delusions. These refer to the way things are altered or misrepresented, such as the way people look at their selves and the way they view the environment.
2. Earn more confidenceStudies show that fear is the biggest enemy of positive thinking. When fear takes place, there is a tendency to stop believing in what is real. Hence, people create delusions or distortion from truth.
For instance, if a person is afraid that he won’t make it to success just because he is afraid of being prejudiced, he will surely never make it. But with confidence and determination, there will be no more room for fear and positive thinking will prevail.
The problem with most people is that they tend to link negative things to positive situations. They distort the truth and create a new world full of fears and skepticisms.
3. Do not ignore itAs much as you are trying to eliminate fear itself, it is not wise or healthful to, likewise, ignore it. Ignoring things will just make matters worse. If something has to be resolved, you should try to solve it and overcome the fear that bothers you.The key to fighting fear is to evaluate your fear and understand how unreasonable and ridiculous they could be. Hence, it is important that you identify the reasons why you should not be affected by your fears.
4. Let goSometimes, people tend to hold on to things that they are afraid of. Funny isn’t it? But people do this most of the time. Even if they feel uncomfortable about the situation or it often bothers them, they still hang on to the details. Experts say that if you really want to fight back fear, let go of the feelings that overwhelm you. For instance, if you are afraid of the dark, you can try to overcome it by staying in the dark. Assess the situation if there is really something to be afraid of. Once cleared, let go of the feelings.Healthy Body - Healthy Mind
Having a Healthy Body is also Having a Healthy Mind
You should lead a healthy lifestyle to have a healthy mind. Studies show that a person who lives this kind of lifestyle not only lives longer, he also gets to do more accomplishments.
We live in such a fast-paced society that we hardly take the time to relax and take care of our bodies. However, those who make sure that they exercise prove that they can think faster and better than those who simply slack off.
The mind and the body go downhill in the later years of a person’s life. In order to remedy this, it only makes sense that the person lets exercising be a part of his daily regimen.
The first step is to realize that the body and the mind are interconnected. The body breaks just as much as the mind slows down. But by staying fit and healthy, there is less chance of these two scenarios (the body breaking down and the mind slowing down) happening.
I took a very intensive meditation course a few years ago, so far in my life it's the best thing I ever did. I can relax leaning on the pole of subway if I have to.
